The University Archives serves as the institutional memory of Dominguez Hills and documents the functions and activities of its community by collecting historical records. On behalf of the University, the Archivist is authorized to negotiate for the transfer of inactive records from the custody of the creating body or bodies to the Archives.
The University Archives documents the administrative process by retaining both the evidence that shapes decisions and the decisions themselves. The scope of the records collected include: |
-
materials representing transactions and decisions essential to the functions of CSUDH (e.g., President's Office; Academic Affairs; Administration and Finance; Information Technology; Student Affairs; WASC; Academic Senate; Associated Students, Inc.)
|
 |
-
materials defining and enhancing the image of CSUDH (e.g., University Advancement, California Academy of Mathematics & Science, Challenger Learning Center, Extended Education and Distance Learning)
-
materials and memorabilia documenting the undergraduate and postgraduate experiences at CSUDH and supporting significant interaction with past graduates (e.g., Alumni Affairs)
The University Archives supports the CSUDH mission by:
- providing information that documents and promotes the mission
- preserving essential administrative and historical evidence of the university
- supporting teaching and enhancing the curriculum through archives acquisitions
- supporting the research of the faculty, students, and other scholars
