| The first international aviation meet (air meet) in America was held on Dominguez Hill in 1910. Aviators from America and France, including the Louis Paulhan, Glenn Curtiss, and Roy Knabenshue, piloted their planes, balloons, and dirigibles past thousands of spectators. A group of local and aviation historians formed the
1910 Los Angeles International Aviation Meet at Dominguez Flying Field Committee to create a comprehensive repository of materials about the 1910 meet, as well as the meets held in 1911. The Committee hosts a website that includes historical information, as well as short film clips from the first meet.
